New drivers' car insurances are outrageously high and there is nothing that can be done about this. It is not that the insurers have any personal grudge against the young drivers. It is only that the new drivers are highly risky drivers and in order to compensate for the high risk, the premium amount for the new drivers' car insurance is extremely high. So, what are the risks? Let us talk reality!
If I were a new driver, I would certainly feel as if the world was mine! Behind the wheels, my attitude would be - "I don't care! I have the power of wheels in my hands."
Alright! If you were the insurer, what would you think of the attitude? Won't you think that I am at high risk of committing accidents? How about property damage and injuries caused to other? How about costing a life in an accident? Yes! These are the risks that the insurance company will always consider and the truth is that new and young drivers are not responsible drivers and it is their glorious blood of youth which causes the major problem! These drivers will become wise and responsible drivers with age but until then, they will have to pay high premiums.
But, there are some tips which can help new drivers to cut down the cost of insurance to some extent. Let us take a look at the same:
® Give priority to your driving records. You must make sure that you take proper coaching and also ensure that you go through different driving lessons. Ask your parents to help you and provide proper guidance during driving. Try to grow up as a proper and responsible driver. This is very crucial. Control your emotions and your vigor. There are defensive driving courses and upon completion of such courses, the insurers can actually consider for immediate discount on the insurance policy. However, this course needs to be completed before the new driver starts driving in real.
® Ensure that there are proper safety features available with the car. For example, safety air bags, abs brakes, devices for anti-theft, central locking system etc. More the number of safety features available with the car, the lower will be insurance premium for new drivers' car insurance. You can also combine the policies for older cars at your home and this will actually help you to get lower premiums.
® Vehicle type is another important factor that you will have to consider. The amount of premium that you pay for the new drivers' car insurance can actually be reduced by the type of vehicle you select. Cars or vans which are safer than other will cost low premium. Similarly on the other hand, if you go for high performance cars or luxury cars, vintage cars, the premium will automatically rise. It is because of this reason, select your car wisely and this will help you to get the best new drivers' car insurance policy at cheap rates.
