We celebrate a number of different holidays through out each year and almost all of them are children friendly holidays. The reason the holidays are for our children is because as adults we have had our turn at being the children celebrating holidays and enjoying all the excitement. It is now time for us, as parents to give our kids holidays that they will enjoy and remember for years to come. Our children have a lot of fun during these holidays but they also learn valuable life lessons.
Well that is simple they learn the life lesson that giving is so much better than receiving. Of course as kids they do not realize this, all they know is that they want gifts and they do not want to give gifts to anyone else. Some of us are lucky enough to have kids that have a kind heart and learn early on that giving is better than receiving.
Christmas is one of the most child friendly holidays that we celebrate. We fill our children's stocking with goodies and wrap gifts for them to open on Christmas morning. Easter is also a wonderful holiday for children. They get to dress up in their best dresses and suits, paint eggs, get Easter baskets, and have Easter egg hunts.
Easter is a fun holiday for the whole family. Have you ever just sat back and watched your kids running around looking for hidden eggs. There is nothing more pure and innocent in the world. Halloween is another holiday that children love. They get to pick out scary or pretty costumes and go trick or treating. This holiday should be closely supervised because there are bad people in this world that would take advantage of our child's innocence.
When you take your kids out trick or treating it is best to stay in lighted areas and in neighborhoods that you know. A lot of churches are even starting a new thing where they pass out candy from the trunks of cars in the church parking lots. The members of the church get together to host this event so that the children will be safe.
This is much safer than walking dark streets with your children at night and asking strangers for candy. We tell our children to never take candy from a stranger and to never go to a strangers home but on Halloween we make an exception, why is that?
Hanukkah is a Jewish holiday that kids celebrate. It is a Holiday that last for eight straight days and nights. The children get a gift on each night. They celebrate this holiday by lighting a hanukkiyah, and it is lit every night for the entire eight nights. During this holiday Jewish children play a game called dreidel.
Hanukkah is a holiday that celebrates that miracle of oil so they enjoy eating fried foods during their holiday. We have a lot of different holidays that are child friendly. As parents we all do our best to make these holidays memorable for our children. If you ask any child what their favorite holiday is the answer you will mostly receive is Hanukkah and Christmas.
