A lot of women who aspire to become mothers will want to change everything in their lifestyle just to get pregnant. She will find ways to get pregnant as much as she can. She will eat the right kind of food, avoid substances like alcohol, nicotine and prohibited drugs. She will jog everyday or even sign up for the gym. She will free herself from all known stressors just to get pregnant. But to some women who practice this, the question remains the same: "

There could be many reasons out there why a couple can't get pregnant. It leaves them exhausted and very much frustrated that after all those months of trying they still haven't conceived. The fertilization of the egg cell seems to still evade them. In their minds, they have possibly done everything but still, zilch. Never stop trying getting pregnant. Think about how long you and your partner have been trying to get pregnant and see if there was ever a time you stopped trying. Trying to conceive will take continuous effort from the couple. You should be able to work out on a schedule where you can try to conceive. You can plan it around the time of ovulation to increase your chances. You can either plan a weekend together or a week where you just try and try until you conceive. Keep in mind though not to overdo the whole process. You might be too stressed and exhausted or you might be doing it too frequently, the sperm count of your partner is depleted.
If you have been at it for more than a year and you still have no baby in the belly, then there is definitely something wrong and this would be the right time to consult a doctor who is an expert in pregnancy and family planning. Age is a big factor in achieving pregnancy and when the woman is beyond 35 years of age and the man 40 and above, it may take awhile and some very concerted efforts to get pregnant. As a woman ages, the quality of her eggs and frequency of its production diminishes. Yes, a woman may still be ovulating on a regular basis but the quality of her eggs may not already be best for fertilization and that can be a huge issue when trying to get pregnant.
Other underlying problems may also cause fertility issues and this includes diabetes and thyroid problems. Sexually transmitted diseases can also be a main reason why couples cannot conceive a child. For a good number of couples, the reason for infertility is really hard to track and for them, a more thorough form of examination is required.

Stress pertains to both the physical and mental kind so if you really intend to conceive, then you have to create some concrete plans on slowing it down at work and releasing stress as often as you can.
