I've been doing Internet marketing for over 9 years and have seen many business opportunities come and go. Recently I've been reevaluating my own online business and looking for the perfect Internet business opportunity.

I am finding there are many ways to make money these days.

Here some of the criteria I think an opportunity should have.

1. Income opportunities. You are in business to make money and need to be able to do that in more than one way.

2. Worldwide business. Internet based products are the best to promote online because you can sell them to people no matter where they live.

The same thing is true with Internet business opportunities. People are going to come to your website from all over the world, and if you do not represent an opportunity they can join you are wasting that traffic.

3. Quality products. This should be a no brainer. Do you believe in the product you're selling?

If you do it is very easy to get behind a product like that. If you don't you are not going to build a long term meaningful Internet business.

4. Easy way to get paid. I personally like PayPal or Alert Pay. These work well as a payment processor or for instant commission payments.

Getting paid by check is somewhat cumbersome especially for people who live outside the United States. Direct deposit is good as well, but nothing beats getting paid into your own PayPal or Alert Pay account.

5. Residual income. Getting paid in the future for work you are doing right now is important to me and probably will be to you as well. There are many Internet business opportunities that offer residual income or recurring payments.

6. Online training. Even established Internet marketers need to refer back to training at one time or another.

If you are new to promoting on the Internet it's good to have training on how to do that. If you're promoting an Internet business opportunity it's nice to know when you bring in a new member they will have access to top notch training to help ensure their success.

7. Support desk or discussion forum. You may need a question answered and it's nice to go to the support desk for that. It is also nice to go to a discussion forum for training or to get answers to problems you may be having.

8. Ease of set up. This is a personal pet peeve of mine.Things that are difficult to get off the ground, and to set up, stay on my hard drive and eventually go away.

I think this is probably true for most people. We are looking for an online business opportunity that is very easy to get set up and we can make money online right away with

9. Business in a box. I like these kind of businesses where they give you a website, quality products, a way to collect money, and training.

I would say this is a pretty comprehensive list. Take a look at your own Internet business opportunity and see how many of these items they provide.
