One of the best business tools on the Internet today is Skype. Are you using it to make money?
Many people think of it primarily as a way to keep in touch with people via online chat. In my case I hardly ever use it for that.
What I did was buy a local phone number and purchase credits directly from Skype. When people dial my number they think they are calling an actual phone when in reality it's ringing into my Skype account.
I can talk to people with my headset and listen through the speakers on my desk. It's very simple to do and the calls are crystal clear. I hardly ever have a problem.
Another great feature from a business standpoint is the ability to talk to people all around the world for free. You do this when the person you are calling has a Skype account as well.
Talking Skype to Skype does not cost anything and you can talk to people as long as you want. I've carried on conversations with people all over the United States, in Canada, in Israel, in London, and everywhere really.
Think about the ways you could use Skype to build an online business. One of the first thing that comes to mind for me is the direct sales field.
If you're going to be selling products on the Internet sometimes you may need to talk to a customer. If you don't want to burn up your cell phone minutes, or you do not have a land line, Skype is the perfect solution.
For example, if you are promoting the Primo Vacations travel product you can talk with your prospects right on your Skype line. You can even put your Skype phone number on your sales page.
If you were in a network marketing program you could use it to interact with your downline. They have a video conferencing feature as well, so you can talk to people and see them while you're talking if you want to do that.
Any Internet business that requires training is perfect for Skype. This could be true not only for direct sales and network marketing, but if you are doing 2-tier affiliate marketing.
One other thing to consider is if you're a blogger and you need to get fresh content. I have used it to talk to people in Hawaii and then write a blog post about our conversation. That's certainly is much cheaper than flying to Hawaii, although it's not as fun!
