Have you ever gone on a picnic and used foam coolers? If you have not, then you will probably already know that carrying around all that food in bags, baskets or regular coolers can be a disaster. These coolers are an excellent alternative to transport all of that food within minimum space and in a very organized way. They are light weight, easy to use and cheaper than regular coolers.
Carrying regular expensive, big, plastic coolers when going away to the beach for the weekend is sometimes impossible. They waste a lot of space, they are heavy, you can't mix certain foods (such as fish) and sometimes they can't keep their contents cool. However, foam coolers come in a variety of sizes, which can help you organize the food you will be transporting in different containers to avoid the mess of mixing some foods with others. Having fish and beers in the same container is not the best idea, so why don´t you buy two separate coolers so you can keep them away from bad odors?
The cost of these coolers is probably their most attractive feature. A regular cooler might cost four or five times more than its foam version. Because of the variety of designs and sizes, the prices range between ten dollars and one hundred dollars. You can choose the best design for you at the lowest price possible and buy it at your local supermarket. You could also order it through online stores, as their availability is impressive. The technology they use to keep things cold/hot is rather simple. The plastic beads of which the coolers are formed prevent the heat from entering, thus keeping things inside cold. In the opposite case, they impede the heat from escaping.
These very simple and affordable devices not only keep food in good condition, they can also help preserve medical and pharmaceutical products in optimal terms. Health agencies, private hospitals and physicians use these coolers to keep vaccines, chemicals and even organs in a safe intact way. When making global health campaigns, many organizations have chosen these coolers as crucial containers where extreme climate conditions make almost impossible the correct preservation of pharmaceutical materials. A few years ago, a well known scientific magazine published an article in which they described how scientists that studied insects in Brazil packed cocoons of different moth species into these coolers and sent them through a major shipping service company for their complete analysis back in the United States.
In addition, these coolers are easier to dispose of, and because many recycling programs include expanded polystyrene (EPS which is the name of the material from which foam coolers are made of) in their suitable for recycling materials you do not have to worry too much about not being green. The number of people that prefer buying these coolers is growing due to numerous advantages of buying a product which is easier, cheaper and lighter. Try foam coolers once and you will surely have a more organized experience when transporting any kind of food.
